Recently, an art work was done by using 32,000 Barbies, a number equivalent to the number of breast augmentation surgeries done every month in the United States. The artist behind this creative work is Chris Jordan.
When looked at from a distance the artwork resembles a female’s breast. However, when inspected closely, it is 32,000 different hair colored Barbies stuck together.
After realizing the number of breast augmentation patients every month, Chris wanted to express this massive number, which is why he created this artwork, resembling a “perfect” Barbie breast–something that the majority of the 32,000 patients desire.
Chris Jordan is also famous for creating other works that is beyond the normal person’s imagination. These artworks include one million plastic cups (the number used in airline flights in the US every six hours), two million plastic beverage bottles (the number used every minutes in the US), and 60,000 plastic bags (the number used in the US in every five minutes).
